Dental X-Rays

Dental x-rays, or radiographs, are detailed images of your teeth. Dentists frequently use x-rays as a tool to determine the overall health of the teeth, bone, and soft tissue structures within the oral cavity. Intraoral x-rays are the most common type in the dentistry field. Specifically, intraoral literally means “within the mouth”. These intraoral x-rays provide the necessary information for your doctor to determine the status on the health of your tooth root, bone structure, developing teeth, general information, and if there are any cavities. From this information, your doctor can diagnose any issues and treat them before becoming major problems.

New patients to American Dental Solutions will receive a complete set of dental x-rays on their first visit. This is because a complete set of x-rays is necessary to accurately diagnose and is an essential part of creating a patient’s treatment plan. Getting the x-ray does not hurt, and is arguably just as important (if not more important) than a teeth cleaning.
