Dental Implant Process

Step One – Consultation

Once you plan your free consultation at American Dental Solutions you will arrive for the first visit of the dental implant procedure. Here your Oral Surgeon will evaluate the health of your gums, jawbone, and the surrounding teeth as well as your overall health history. Additionally, the Oral Surgeon will present your options for dental implants and sedation method. At the end of your consultation, our staff will cover your insurance information and will discuss the tooth implant cost. To help keep your treatment affordable, we also offer flexible low monthly payment options at American Dental Solutions.

Step Two – The dental implant placement

First, the sedation method you have chosen will be applied. Then the Oral Surgeon will place the titanium dental implants into your jawbone, below the gum. This section must remain in place for a minimum of three months to allow the bone to attach to the dental implant. Your temporary replacement tooth or teeth will be placed while the bonding takes place.

What to Expect While Healing

After having the lower portion of the implant embedded into the bone, a soft diet will help shorten the healing time and reduce any swelling more quickly. The deciding factors are your body’s ability to heal and how fast your jawbone bonds with the tooth implants.

Throughout the entire procedure, your dentist and the oral surgeon taking care of you will answer any questions that you may have about your dental implants. They will work to insure that you experience the least discomfort and disruption of your daily life possible.

Step Three – The Restoration

Finally, your oral surgeon will determine if the dental implants have properly bonded with the bone. If positive, then the doctor will affix a titanium abutment to the implant, providing a strong base for the doctor to attach the final crown or bridge. Your smile will be complete again giving you the worry free smile you had before losing your teeth. You may now enjoy the life long benefits of a tooth implants procedure.
